The Ludovice Ensemble is an Early Music group created by Fernando Miguel Jalôto and Joana Amorim to promote the vocal and instrumental chamber repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries through historically informed performances, using historic instruments. In Portugal, they performed in varied festivals and concert. Of particular note are their concerts in the Gulbenkian Foundation’s Auditorium and in various Dias da Música at the Centro Cultural de Belém. Ludovice Ensemble performed at some of the most prestigious early music festivals. As an ambassador of Portuguese Early Music, they are responsible for the 1st modern performance of works by Portuguese composers or composers active in Portugal such as Almeida, Avondano, Tedeschi, Giorgi, Perez and Astorga. In 2011, they represented Portugal at REMA (European Network of Early Music) at the invitation of Casa da Música and in 2012 they released their first CD for the Ramée-Outhere label, which was warmly received by the public and international specialized critics, and named for the 2013 ICMA Awards. Ludovice Ensemble recorded live for RDP-Antena 2 as well as for the French TV channel MEZZO.
