Rosana Orsini is a lyrical singer, musicologist, and stage director with a solid background and a distinguished international career. Her career combines artistic excellence with intellectual depth, integrating vocal interpretation, musicological research, and stage creation. The Washington Post described her as an “engaging interpreter”, emphasising her expressiveness. She was principal investigator for the AVEMUS project: music in the concertante style at the former Royal Monastery of São Bento da Avé-Maria in Porto, funded by the FCT (FCT). She holds a bachelor’s degree in singing from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, a master’s degree in lyric singing from the Manhattan School of Music, a postgraduate degree from the Royal Academy of Music, a master’s degree in history (Sorbonne – Paris IV), and a doctorate in musical sciences (NOVA Lisbon) in history (Sorbonne – Paris IV). She specialised in baroque music (Conservatorio di San Pietro a Majella, Naples) and conducting (Fondazione Franco Zeffirelli, Florence). With an approach that combines research and performance, she establishes herself as a central figure in the study and promotion of Luso-Brazilian musical heritage.
