The Ensemble Portingaloise is made up of artists with versatile training who, within the Portingaloise Cultural and Artistic Association, are dedicated to the dissemination of Early Dance through historically informed practice, promoting constant training and research and, occasionally, the Portingaloise – International Festival of Early Dances and Music, already in its 10th Edition (2024/25). The following original productions stand out: Do tento à tentação (2023), Assembleia dançante (2022), Vi/Ver o Paço (2022), Balle de las danças (2021), Os gestos cantam na dança libertados (2020), Marie Sallé, Handel’s Terpsicore (2019), Auto do labirinto (2018), Kinski (2016-18), Le voyage imaginaire (2016), with presentations at different festivals, theaters and spaces in Portugal and abroad. The ensemble also participated in the television series Madre Paula on RTP1 (2017) and collaborated with different groups such as Orquestra Barroca da Esmae, Orquestra Barroca Vigo 430, O Bando de Surunyo, Capella Sanctae Crucis, Ensemble Com.Cordas, Americantiga Ensemble, Orquestra Barroca by Mateus, Ensemble Alorna. Its founder, Catarina Costa e Silva, teaches Early Dances in the Early Music Course at Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo, Porto, since 2008.
