12 24La Floreta is a historical dance company, based in Madrid, dedicated to bringing contemporary audiences closer to dance in the courts, theaters, salons and festive spaces of Europe between the 15th and 18th centuries, preserved in dance treatises, choreographic notations, musical scores and iconographic documents. The company’s repertoire is based primarily on Spanish, Italian and French sources of theatrical and social dance, which are performed in an attractive way, displaying a beauty that is both current and timeless. Among his most recent performances are Un sarao barroco (2023), La cadena de amor (2022), Danzas para dos reinas. Saraos, bailes y minuetes en tiempos de Felipe V commissioned by Patrimonio Nacional (Spain), debuting in its Musical Season in August 2021 and La Spagna em danza created on commission by the Fundación Juan March and premiered at the foundation itself in January 2019. La Floreta is directed by Diana Campóo, dancer, choreographer and researcher, graduated from the Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Madrid, holding a PhD in Modern History from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Professor since 2005 at the Superior Center of Music of the Basque Country (Musikene), she carries out research in the history of dance, with numerous publications at an international level.
